"Plant genetic resources are basic requirement in any crop improvement and their importance has increased in the recent years. Genetic resources of horticultural crops now are offered as subject in all horticultural colleges. In view of this, the book "Genetic Resources of Horticultural Crops" has been written primarily to serve as a text book for the students of horticulture as well as researchers. There is no specific book for genetic resources of horticultural crops. Students are required to go through several horticulture books to have a knowledge on plant genetic resources. It was therefore, thought that students should be provided a comprehensive book as per their course requirements."
