"Since Independence in 1947, there has been an enormous expansion of school education in India. The school segment has adopted and integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve quality and productivity in education. However, the existing inequalities prevailing in school education system have led to digital divide. Other problems and challenges facing the system include outdated curriculum, pedagogy, lack of infrastructure, dropouts, teachers absenteeism, unequal access, lax administration and slow speed of vocationalization of education.
