The theory and practice of psychological testing developed during the post world war II period. The American armies had fought on various fronts on behalf of their allies. It was observed that the army men and soldiers were put to great stress and strain during the actual war operations and the soldiers developed many psychoses and were subjected to all sorts of medical treatment.
The results of the findings of the armies was applied to students in schools and colleges on the basis of these tests the actual level of intelligence of the incumbents was tested and these tests proved of great significance for the development of the personality of the children.
