"The book entitled, "Threatened Animals of India," presents information about the IUCN criteria for enlisting the threatened species and gives an overall picture of the species facing threat of extinction at the global level and in the country. Further, the text describes in brief the biology and ecology of about 61 animals including fishes, reptiles, birds and mammals which have been included as threatened in IUCN Red Data List (1994, 1996, 2000), CITES Appendices (2000/2001), and Indian Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 (amended in 1991 and 2001)."
