Varaha Purana

Narrated to Goddess Earth by Visnu in the form of Boar, this Purana contains prayers to Visnu and rules for his worship. In spite of its Vaisnavatic character it contains legends related to Siva and Durga. A large portion of this work tells the legends of Naciketas in which the descriptions of hell and heaven form the main theme.
