The monograph provides a comprehensive description and analysis of terrestrial vegetation in minor details based on extensive field sampling and plant diversity. It gives insight of general vegetation characteristics and diversity of plant to post graduate and research students ,teachers, forest personnel, managers and planners. The gradual rarefaction and eventual local extinction of plant species of different habitats have been viewed in the light of perceived changes in the local climatic conditions during the last few decades. The special feature of the monograph is the investigation of loss pattern of the species with changes in landuse pattern and disturbances associated with socio-economic activities in the region since 1960s.
