Providing rural households access to financial services, particularly credit, has been a priority agenda of the Government of India since Independence. Despite having a wide network of rural branches of different banks, a large number of rural population still remain outside the fold of financial services.

This book provides an insight into the ground level situation pertaining to availing of financial services by the village households in Andhra Pradesh. Taking a close look at the government policy towards financial services to rural households, it identifies the financial needs of the village households and evaluates the availing of financial services by them. The sources for meeting the financial needs of village households have also been analysed.
