This second volume of the Complete Woks of Kalidasa with English translation consist of the three dramas of the national poet, which are universally acclaimed. They are the Malavikagnimitra, the Vikramorvasiya and the Abhijanana Sakuntala which in considered as the masterpiece.
Each of these dramas and poems are presented here based on critical editions in the Devanagari script followed by the English translation so that the reader could easily appreciate the work. A brief introduction giving an a account of their contents, commentaries and translation in Indian and foreign languages added here will be helpful for a better appreciation of the dramas and poems. “(jacket)
