From the preface: “In this Annual book, we are fortunate to have a number of authoritative reviews on select invited topics/subjects of interest in the field of Solar Energy and of timely in this field as well as reports on the original work. Ever since Solar Energy Centre (SEC) and now National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) started its own training, research, outdoor and Indoor testing of both solar thermal and photovoltaic modules and systems in India, serious attempts were made both at MNRE and SEC level to understand and formulate the role of Solar Energy in the context of overall energy scenario in the country. Large number of training programs and other educational activities both for professionals from India and developing countries including South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and cultural organization (UNESCO) were organized at SEC.
