“The book entitled "Brazil, India and South Africa: Trilateral Cooperation for Democracy and Development" is a serious endeavour to explore the various opportunities to achieve that goal. Historically speaking, Brazil got independence from the Portuguese colonialism in the year 1822, much earlier than both India and South Africa. Therefore, Brazil has been given the first place in the title of this book. All the three countries are facing the common challenges of poverty, illiteracy and health care and, therefore, they must devise strategies accordingly. At the international level, they can definitely play a significant role in tackling the problems of terrorism, climate change and nuclear nonpooliferatim. Remarkably, these three counties are also making serious effort to make the United National more representative and democratic. In order to make the UAN more effective, they are also trying to have a permanent seat in the Security Council. IBSA dialogue forum in a major development in the direction of promoting South-South Cooperation.

Authors are fully convinced that this work would stimulate serious academic and policy debate and also be helpful for policy–makers and diplomats to have valuable information about IBSA.

This book is the original, most comprehensive and critical study of the various economic, political as well as socio–economic development within the framework of IBSA Dialogue Forum.”(jacket)
