From the Introduction: "The present catalogue contains the descriptions of 498 manuscripts, numbered serially from 1 to 498. The cataloguer has rightly classified the manuscripts under the ten broad subjects as fixed by Ivanow. The same oriental system of transliteration followed by Ivanow is maintained in the present catalogue. But full diacritical marks are used only in the titles of the works. The specifications of each manuscript, such as the number of its folios, its size, its script, paper used, its condition etc. is given in a line at the end of the description of the manuscript and for it the same short-form notations, as used by Ivanow, are retained in the present Catalogue."
