Rasa Shastra is a well established branch of Ayurveda. No other branch is having as much as the literature the Rasa Shastra is having. This gives the impression that how important this branch is. There are certain books in Hindi, as per the regulatory bodies syllabus. Some works in English versions are also available. However no book has covered all aspects. In this attempt the author has tried to put his views and knowledge gained from his Great Gurus like Drs. Ch. Ranga Rao, M. Shankar Shastri, I. Ramakrishna, Profs. H.S. Sharma, D. Joshi and LK Dwivedi and his own observations in this work and made it a complete work. He tried to put his comments in the form of commentary- Parimi(ta) Bhidhini. It covered several aspects from different disciplines related to the subject for better understanding. Though it become an extensive work for undergraduates but still it gives immense knowledge to those who will do extensive studies as everything will be available at one place. For P.G students also it is very versatile book which not only enlightens but also makes the scholar a full pledged master in the subject. Apart from UG and P.G scholars it is book always needed by Researchers as well. It also fills the vacuum of not having proper book in English for the foreigners and the people from other disciplines especially to those who want to learn Rasa Shastra. The author, after lost his better half, wanted to give a tribute in her memory, put his pen in the form of this work. In this effort he tried to compile all relevant portions from various works to explain the underlying ideas of Rasa Shastra materials. Thus the book mostly covered all, apart from synonyms, types, ideal characters, Shodhana, Marana and other relevant portions from different literature, matters like geographical distribution, scientific parlance, historical importance, pharmacological, pharmaceutical and forensic toxicological points.
