A Timely Message from the Cave: The Mahamudra and Intellectual Agenda of dGe-bshes Brag-phug-pa dGe-dun-rin-chen (1926-1997), the Sixty-Ninth rJe-mkhan-po of Bhutan

Mahamudra is most commonly known as the paramount doctrine and meditative system in all bKa’-brgyud schools and is today globally practiced. In general, it is characterized by a strong focus on the realization of the fundamental nature of the mind. However, it has also been discussed and partially practiced in the three other Tibetan Buddhist schools of rNying-ma, Sa-skya and dGe-lugs, though it is integrated and interpreted in a quite different way in the latter tradition.
