The book presents the socio - economic and political life of the Lushai people in the pre - post British rule. It discusses how the Lushai came into contact with the outsiders. The book is mostly dealt with how the traditional administrative pattern was made into Hills Autonomous District Council and to Union Territory of Mizoram. It also discusses a range of factors leading to the formation of the representative institution in the Mizo Hills. It also deals with how the character of District Council administration and the Assam State administration differed greatly from one another. Lastly, it thrashes out how did the Autonomous District Council administration renovate into Union Territory administration in 1972. It also lists out some important rules and regulations enacted under the administration Union Territory.
