In this book, the authors have compiled all the available valid species of family Muscidae from India. A.C. Pont provided the last catalogue that encompasses the species list from all over the oriental region including 243 species from India. With numerous changes in the taxon names, including synonymization, new records, and new species descriptions from the country, it is the need of the hour to update the species list of Indian muscid flies. This book contains 341 valid species names in 37 genera, utilizing literature from Linnaeus Systema Naturae (1758) till 31st December 2023. It also contains detailed information about the type status, type locality, and distribution in India along with relevant references from the country.
