The book in hand entitled ‘Basics of Phytopathological Techniques’ is an attempt to provide a basic practical guide of plant pathology for under graduate and post graduate students. Much has been written on different aspects of plant pathology covering courses prescribed by most of the universities. The book starts with safety precaution to work in laboratory and cover description about different laboratory equipments, basic laboratory techniques, isolation and purification of micro-organisms, maintenance of culture, collection and preservation of sample, preparation, evaluation and application of fungicide etc. in twenty seven chapters. All the chapters have been explained in very simple, concise and lucid manner. Adequate examples, diagram and photographs have also been included to enable the students to grasp the subject easily and provide great assistance in carrying out the experiments and in understanding the results. Attempts have been made to make the book all in one, so as to make it useful for students, researchers and aspirants appearing in competitive examinations.
