"It appears that new methods cannot be introduced without considerable and detracting resistance. Fortunately, the need for better understanding of body mechanics is now becoming recognized. The subject still remains confusing, however, because of the tendency to ignore the influence of normal habits and the relationship between structure and function. It is in this respect that properly trained physiotherapists have an advantage over others in dealing with body movements. Proper training in the analysis of body movements and in physical analysis should from the essential background to physiotherapy training. A knowledge of the two subjects allows for checking findings reached by either method. The present work with a volume on the system of physical analysis developed by the writer."
