"Biotechnology is technology that uses living organism or parts of organism to make or modify products, to improve quality of plant to develop animals or microorganisms for unambiguous use. Viable biotechnology consists of emergent range of consistent techniques, procedures and processes for practical applications in the health care, agriculture and industrial use commercial biotechnology includes research to services. If properly managed, it is widely recognized that biotechnology can play an essential role in fostering the economic and social development of developing countries in the area of health care many biotechnologies products such as insulin, diagnostics and vaccines have already been placed on the market and products such as recombinant resultant hepatitis B vaccine have gained pervasive international use in agriculture products such as diagnostics bio pesticides and bovine growth hormone have been in commercial use. Other products and technologies include improved seeds, new vaccines, novel food ingredients, biotechnology based techniques for the rapid detection and identification of toxic materials and several bioprocessing technologies. Biotechnological inventions are based on new scientific discoveries it offers novel approaches for striking a balance between development needs and environmental preservation. The transfer and development of biotechnology requires large capital inputs, in case of many developing countries, which is not readily available. It require suitable infrastructure to absorb and to develop technology and to manage it properly and systematically. So to choose and adapt biotechnology can serve as a measurement of sustainable self-reliance that will allow it to participate fully in worldwide efforts to achieve sustainable development.

The present book touches upon different aspects of biotechnology management such as, economics of biotechnology, reimbursement of biotechnology, overview, organization, management and structure of biotechnology industry, bioethics of biotechnology, product growth in industry, intellectual property and industry structure and success stories of biotechnology industry.

This book will be an essential for all students and researchers in the field of biotechnology." (jacket)
