From the preface: "This volume is a tribute to the Late Dr. Zakir Husain, former Shaikhul Jamia, (1926-48), Amir-i-Jamia (1963-69) and the President of India (9.5.1967-3.5.1969). Jamia archives was entrusted with the responsibility of preserving the documentary heritage related to Dr. Zakir Husain that had been in the custody of Jamia Millia Islamia. The collection consists of speeches given by Dr. Zakir Husain, his personal and official correspondence, medical records, school and college certificates, personal diaries and press clippings. The collection has documents in English, Hindi, Urdu, Persian and German languages. Through this volume, author have endeavoured to list all these documents in a chronological sequence."
