"The present book \'Contemporary Sanskrit Writings in Orissa\' is a product of analytical research as a part of major thrust area of research under the SAP - DRS programme of UGC in the Department of Sanskrit, Dr. H.S. Gour University, Sagar. It deciphers the current trends of Sanskrit literature in India taking Orissa as a specimen. The literary works of twentyseven Sanskrit writers of Orissa who have lived or have been living beyond 1975 are discussed here to conclude that Sanskrit literature is steadily heading towards modernity to be at par with any other language in India."
