The issue of corruption and its impact on governance has remained alive always. With the ushering in of the new economic policy in India in 1991, the good governance mantra pushed it to the forefront two decades ago. The history of scams in the recent and not so recent past along with the contentious issue of the Lokpal Bill on 2011 has brought this issue out of official and academic circles into the domain of civil society. Thus this volume on corruption and quality of governance, presenting conceptual and historical treatments of corruption and case studies from select Commonwealth countries including Australia, Canada, India and UK, is or interest to every citizen. More specifically it is an exercise in comparative administration, of interest and great use to students, researchers and teachers of administration, as well as to aspiring and practicing administrators.
