There is no dearth of literature on Dalits, as there are hundred of books in the shelves of libraries. Still, there is a vacuum for books on Dalit politics. Very honestly, we feel, there is a room for a comprehensive and authentic work on Dalit Politics. Here, we have made an attempt to fill the vacuum. We do not make the tall claim that this small book would prove to be the last word on the subject. But, we hope, this feeble attempt would at least stir the calm waters. This is a brief but exhaustive, research-based book, on Dalit politics. This small book would provide the reader with a new, reassuring experience. (jacket)
