The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), as the ape body for disaster management is headed by the Prime Minister and has the responsibility for laying down policies, plans and guidelines for disaster management and coordinating their enforcement and implementation for ensuring timely and effectively response to disasters.
The NDMA has prepared a number of guidelines for the effective prevention, prepareness and response to any kind of disasters. This book is a compilation of some important guidelines issued by the NDMA with the objective of wide circulation and public awareness (specially College University Students) amongst the educated citizens of India.
