Domestic Violence against women, young girls, even tender aged girls are on rampant increase in India as well as other countries too. It is the most serious violation of all basic rights that a woman suffers in her own home at the hands of members within her own family. Over the past few decades gender-based violence has been recognized as a serious problem.
Women are placed at various disadvantageous positions. They are under exploitation both in the house and outside the house. They are subjected to violence likewise female foeticide, infanticide, child marriage, dowry, purdah, Sati, slavery, incest and sexual harassment etc. India is no exception for this unfortunate situation.
