Use of internet has become invaluable resource for education worldwide. E-education is a form of formal or non-formal education in which direct interaction between teachers and students as well as among student groups is facilitated by information and communication technology.

The world we live in is constantly changing. The main changes in the last decade are: computers gaining omnipresence, a society diverse in culture, education and socio-economic levels, a highly skilled workforce needed in the majority of work places, a highly competitive business market and the appearance of new educational technologies.

Students in remote and underdeveloped areas are the largest beneficiaries of education through the internet. E-education is the process of learning where computers are used at each possible step of the process: enrollment, instruction design, content delivery, evaluation, assessment and support. This means that students and teachers do not have to sit in the classroom but instead they can learn anytime from anywhere in the world.

This book highlights all the aspects of E-education for students of various courses, researchers and teachers. The comprehensive nature of this book makes it a useful reference for all the people related to the field of education. (jacket)
