Education in India has a history stretching back to the ancient urban centers of learning at Taxila and Nalanda. Though education is in the concurrent list of the constitution, the State Governments play a very major role in the development of education particularly in the primary and the secondary education sectors.
Educational administration is a discipline within the study of education that examines the administrative theory and practice of education in general and educational institutions and educators in particular. Educational policy and progress have been reviewed in the light of the goal of national development and priorities set from time to time.
