When I chose to Compose an Encyclopaedia on Indian tribes I found it to be a most opportune time, as the year 1993 has been declared 'The Year of Indigenous People' by the UNO.
The Indigenous populations of North and South Americas and those of Australia are now 'vanishing lot. The relicts of these indigenous populations are heading towards extinction. These indigenous communities survive under economic sanctions and protections of First World countries.
In India one may wonder about the very declaration of the indigenous peoples' year especially when such people are at survival risk, even when they are the citizens of the wealthiest nations of the world.
Like any other political organization UNO has also a body named ILO (International Labour Organization). By its name it looks as if it is a socialist organization but contrary to it, this body is controlled by the associations of wealthy European and American churches. These churches have large funds which they receive from imperialist lobby of the West, which have the tradition to use religion for the political purposes.
ILO which is originally an association of Christian churches very well knows that by raising the voice for the welfare of indigenous population they will do no harm to their funding nations.
It is very clear that ILO due to its international contacts is a recognised body. Being supported by Christian Missions it is in fact not at all interested in tribals or the marginal people. Its move and intension is to gain the political power.
