Endangered Toda Tribe Buffalo Culture and Language Preservation
Todas, a primitive tribal community in Tamil Nadu, speak the Toda language, an independent member of the South Dravidian language family. India is among the top 197 endangered languages in the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger, with 81 vulnerable languages. The Toda tribal language is critically endangered, as it threatens the loss of their traditional buffalo culture. This research study aims to preserve the Toda buffalo culture and language, as language is closely linked to culture.
