"This book brings out the entomological problems of oilseed crops in the context of the socio-economic conditions of the farmers and discusses the scope of and methodology for increasing the production potential of oilseed crops in the country.

The book also looks into the extension work, adoption of technology, availability and adequacy of extension facilities and services through responses of the plant protection functionaries, i.e. Plant Protection Supervisors (PPSs) in relation to the control measures recommended by the ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and the State Government (U.P.). It also deals with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and the factors responsible for the abundance of pests. It further recommends and lays down the extension strategies for effectively controlling the oilseeds pests.
