From the Foreword: "The present volume Enumeration of the Vascular Plants of West Nepal is the continuation of the bulletins published by the Department of Medicinal Plants. This book is prepared on the basis of the plant specimens preserved in the Herbarium of the Department of Plant Resource. The specimens are collected by various collectors, both foreign and local botanists, plant hunters and staff members of the Department of Plant Resource since the National Herbarium was started in 1960. The staff of the National Herbarium were engaged in writing up the preliminary manuscript of this book.

The book contains a list of 1894 species of Vascular Plants including 139 species of ferns, 14 species of gymnosperms and 1741 species of angiosperms. Many species have been newly added to the Flora of West Nepal."
