From the preface: "The present book specially tried to explore the existing status and scenario in the area of integrating environmental dimension with the sustainable development at regional as well as national level. The development policy, plan and programmes vis-a-vis environmental actions for sustainable development have already initiated in the framework of integration in Nepal, particularly since nineties. The book, therefore, also attempts to assess of the constraints and lacunas surfaced both at the policy and program as well as at implementation level. Finally effort has been made to recommend future course of actions from the Nepalese perspectives, for maintaining balance between socio-economic needs of the people and the capacity of the earth\'s ecosystems so as to fulfill the needs of present and future generations."
