Essential English is a coursebook for undergraduate students. It provides students with adequate and challenging material to practise and work on their English skills through a variety of exercises in listening, speaking, reading and writing.  The book also addresses the communicative needs of students by providing useful tips and exercises on topics such as presentations, seminars, conferences, group discussions, public speaking, interviews and résumé writing. The ‘Reading for Enrichment’ section includes carefully chosen passages that are relevant to the lives and interests of young people today. The passages are followed by comprehension, vocabulary and grammar exercises, which are based on the text.
