Education being a social institution has cause and effect relationship with other social institutions like family, economy, polity, stratification, religion etc. This book is based on the underpinnings drawn from sociology of education that looks relationships between various social institutions a sub-discipline of sociology. Education exists in society in the form of a matrix of social relationships between various status-role performers like students, teachers, administrators, parents, community etc. Health of education depends upon the status-role performance of these stakeholders.
