"Nizamabad, one of the 10 districts of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, harbours a rich and diverse flora. The forests of the district are of tropical dry deciduous type.

"The present work, being the first systematic botanical exploration in the district yielded 708 species of angiosperms and pteridophytes belonging to 436 genera and 123 families.

"Introduction, past and present work on the flora of the district,, general vegetation types, floristic analysis and artificial key to families are provided in the first part of the text. The second part includes the systematic enumeration. References and index to families, genera and species are given at the end.

"In systematic enumeration, all the families are arranged according to Bentham and Hooker\'s system with slight modifications. Dichotomous indented type of keys are provided for genera and species and nomenclature of taxa brought up-to-date. Species description is with citation, morphological description, phenological data and distribution." (jacket)
