"The book deals with the subject of forest management in three sections, viz:-
Fundamental of management.
Yield and its regulation.
Working plans.
It is intended to meet the requirements of trainees and officer probationers at the forest colleges, as well as the students of forestry in various universities.
Principles and practices of management have been dealt with a simple lucid manner, and illustrated with examples from Indian forestry to facilitate gasp by the students methods of yield regular and irregular forests have been grouped and described under separate chapters, and explained with numerical examples.
A separate section on working plans coves the details of field work, compilation and computation, and the write - up of the plan under standard headings and sub headings.
Extract from some representative working plans have been appended to illustrate and exemplify certain basic management concepts.
