The book Gender and Social Work: Positions and Practices integrates the philosophical positioning and the conceptual framework behind gender and applies it in guiding the social work practice. 

The uniqueness of book is its integration of theoretical framework and the practice based domains in social work profession. The book is divided into two broad sections. The book is divided into two broad sections. While the first section unveils the philosophical positions and the various theoretical frameworks, the second section focuses on the multitude of practice situations in which gender lens is used to analyze the contexts, and provide tools for practice such as family settings, mental health concerns, human trafficking and justice concerns climate change issues.
