The phenomenon of Globalisation is increasingly becoming a focal point for consideration in almost every human endeavour. Unless until the inner meaning and roots of it are traced properly we can not explore what implication does this phenomenon have on education delivery. Scholars have different views about this term, however it generally refers to economic, political and cultural integration of the global community nations. It also means more competition among nations of the world with major characteristics of informational, global and networked. One area globalisation is/may be influencing is education, because educational systems ought to produce individuals vested with the right skills and knowledge to be able to operate effectively in the new dispensation which is highly competitive. Nations must create the right educational environment to promote effective teaching and learning to achieve the unique requirements of globalisation.

Globalisation refers to the process of the intensification of economic, political social and cultural relations across international boundaries. (jacket)
