About the Author: Bharat Ratna Chidambaram Subramaniam was the President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Worldwide for a decade till he passed away in 2000. He was a patriot, statesman and thinker. As a father of India’s Green revolution he is hailed as one of the greatest achievers of modern India. He was deeply involved in India’s freedom movement and played a significant role in the development of independent India.
