This Handbook is the second edition of my previous book titled Manual for Knowledge Custodians. A must for Library Professionals and Academicians that deals with library important documents. This is a compendium of information in library field and its techniques. This is an effort to provide library Professionals with a readable and concise reference to assist them in the performance of their duties and to understand the National and International standards pertaining to the library service. Many chapters have been modified according to the changes made by different organizations such as UGC AICTE etc. Hence it seems worthwhile to reissue this book to meet the professional needs and requirements.
In todays information society libraries provide the oxygen to the literary society. Libraries are equipping people with the tools necessary for life success. With skilled and knowledgeable library staff a wide array of online resources traditional print collections exciting program offerings libraries are experiencing unprecedented increases in public use.
