"The present book entitled Handbook of Coaching has two-fold purposes: (1) To show how certain guides for teaching and learning may be applied to the coaching of sports, and (2) To point out the relationship of meaningful learning to successful sports/athletic coaching. Meaningful learning is that type of learning in which the student sees some function in the material to be learned, in which there is an interrelationship of factors, and in which the learner\'s efforts are directed toward the discovery of the interrelatedness of those factors.
The present book is a marvellous effort by the author in the field of physical education and sports science, sports/athletic coaching." (jacket)
