Health is one of the most important aspects of community development and family welfare. As a matter of fact. It is starting point of all welfare activities. The Health of a nation depends on the health of its inhabitants. Thus it is considered to be one of the most sensitive indicators of human welfare. The Concept of health and disease varies from society to society. In every society There exist a body of beliefs and concepts with regard to the nature of illness and its treatment. Thus the system of treatment is generally determined by the socio-cultural environments of the society. In the present study therefore, and attempt has been made to have an appraisal at the health status of the tea labours in uppar Assam with special reference to their traditional modes of health seeking behaviour.
