"Diarrhoea is also called loose motions. Diarrhoea is the passage of watery stools, usually at least three times in a 24 hour period. However, it is the consistency of the stools rather than the number that is most important. Diarrhoea is not itself a disease, but can be a symptom of several diseases. Diarrhoea is medically termed as gastroenteritis, which means more than three loose stools in a day.

Dysentery is also called bloody flux. Dysentery is a serious condition affecting the large intestine caused by two organisms, protozoa and bacilli. The former is generally known as amoebic dysentery and the latter as bacillary dysentery. An attack of amoebic dysentery is milder in comparison with bacillary dysentery."
