From the preface: The book is intended as a useful reference work to readers of varied academic interests. An attempt has been made in the book to depict state of higher education in Bihar and to highlight major challenges before the government for quality improvement and modernization of syllabi, renewal of infrastructure, extra-budgetary resource mobilization and greater issues in governance and appointment of teachers and other officials against the vacant posts. Twenty nine contributions incorporated in this volume comprise a unique collection of research papers and review articles on various aspect of higher education.
