This book on ‘Human Resource Management and Marketing of Education’ is the outcome of intensive post-graduate teaching, handling of in house/in plant training programmes, conducting and guiding research, writing books and articles on some of its areas and offering counseling and consultation services to different private and public sector enterprises in the different areas of human resource management over a period of about four decades.

Management is the art of getting the work done by others by utilizing the available resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the predetermined objectives of the enterprises. Human resource is the most important resources available to the enterprises in both the private and public sector. HR plays a major role in the economic development of a country. All other resources will remain unutilized in absence of human resource. Hence human resource is prominent and needs special care and attention is prominent and needs special care and attention to manage properly, but definitely not by hunch or intuition.

Keeping, in view the current requirements, we have made the necessary efforts to clarify the concepts of human resource management and industrial relations to enable the students and the practicing managers to deal effectively with the situations being faced by them. This book is prepared basically for the students of B.B.A., M.B.A., B.Com., M.Ed., M.L.W., M.S.W., M.P.M., PGDPM, PGDRM, PGDBM, and such other courses and programmes. It will be good for human resource executives and to the managers of any other functional area of management in the private or public sectors government department or even non-business undertakings and the practitioners.
