"This book consists of interesting research papers relating to issues on development of human resources in tribal areas, particularly focusing on education and health standards. The research papers discuss elaborately and critically many important micro and macro level aspects pertaining to the development of education and health facilities in the interior tribal areas. The issues covered in this volume include "Draft National Policy" on the development of education and health facilities in tribal areas, pattern, programmes and policies relating to tribal education, levels of education in different tribal regions, issues relating to female literacy, dropouts, their traditional wisdom, and language etc. Similarly the health conditions prevailing in different tribal regions, issues relating to development of ethno medicine and herbal medicines are also analyzed. Various suggestions were made with regard to the policy formulations and implementation of education and health programmes in the remote tribal areas. The papers included in this volume are the revised and updated versions of the papers presented at the seminar, (on "Draft National Policy and trials and human resource development in tribal areas") held at Andhra University campus Etcherla; Srikakulam A.P.
