"India - Nepal relations have been a subject of high significance for both the countries. The treaties and agreements concluded between the two countries from time to time clearly shows the mutuality of interests and need for cooperation and intimacy between the two countries.

The present book is a collection of various treaties, agreements and understandings concluded between India and Nepal since the days of East India Company. The book is divided into three parts: Part first makes out an up to date review of India - Nepal relations. Part two includes treaties concluded with Nepal during the British Rule in India. The third part includes treaties, agreements and understandings, concluded with Nepal after India's independence. Part third is further divided into four parts: peace and security treaties, trade and transit treaties, treaties relating to water resources utilization and treaties relating to economic cooperation. This book will be useful to students, scholars and general readers." (jacket)
