"The book entitled "India, China and Latin America: Strategic, Economic and Political Perspectives" critically examines the basic nature of relationship among India, China and Latin America in the context of the changing dynamics of the post-Cold War political economy.
The book has been divided into three parts. The very first part deals with Latin America’s relationship with both India and China. The author has critically examined the strategic significance of Latin America for India as well as China. In this context, the author has pointed out that one of the key goals of China’s foreign policy has been the diplomatic isolation of Taiwan. Today, there are twenty-seven countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan and, remarkably, fourteen of them are from the Latin America itself.
Part two of this book makes critical assessment of the economic and trade relations between China and Latin America within the wider framework of south-south cooperation. India, China and Latin America are moving in the direction of strategic partnership in the sphere of energy security.
Part third of this book makes a comprehensive analysis of the Sino-Indian strategy for energy security and international stability. This book is the original, most comprehensive and critical investigation of the evolving nature of relationship among India, China and Latin America. The author is fully convinced that this work would be an invaluable source of knowledge for academician, policy maker and diplomats."
