Higher education plays a vital role in development of human beings. The challenges of quality in Higher Education have many dimensions in terms of adequate teachers of requisite quality; effectiveness of teaching-learning processes; attainment levels of students, infrastructural facilities etc. The impact of information technology in different dimensions of higher education has been pronounced over the last two decades in India.  Higher education sector over the last decade has seen many new challenges. All of them are required to exploit the developments in Information and Communication Technology to design, manage and to deliver viable academic programmes and training modules.  The problems of Indian education system are of access, number, relevance and quality and resource crunch. Using the ICT at different levels at Universities starting from admission of students for various courses, employment of staff, teaching and learning process, examinations, management of Library and administration is more important to achieve academic excellence.
