Bhisma Upreti was born in Jhapa, eastern part of Nepal. He has masters degree in economics from the University of Southampton, U.K. and masters degree in Nepali from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
He is the author of eight books of Essays/Travel essays and seven books of poetry. His works have been translated into English, Japanese, Korean, Serbian, Slovenian, Tamil and Hindi and have appeared in various journals and anthologies including The Grey Sparrow, Skeleton. The Art of Being Human, The Enthusiast, our voices, the Black Rose of Winter, Bridge of Fates, an anthology of Nepali verses, lost coast review and others.
