Keys to the Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Monocotyledonous Genera of Nepal
From the Introduction: "The present volume like the preceding ones is preliminary in nature in the identification process of Nepalese Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Monocots up to the generic level in the field as well as in the laboratory. Hence the keys are artificial and are based mainly on the gross macroscopic characters.
In the present work the families under the groups are arranged alphabetically. The delimitation of genera has been adapted from An Enumeration of the Flowering Plants of Nepal, Volume I (1978), as it is the only recent compilation work that includes Gymnosperms and Monocots so far recorded from this country. However the delimitation of the genera of Ferns has been adapted from Copeland\'s Genera Filicum (1947). The descriptions of the families of Gymnosperms and Monocots are chiefly based on the Handbook of Coniferae (1948) by Dallimore and Jackson and Hutchinson\'s The Families of Flowering Plants, Volume II (1959) respectively. However Bor\'s The Grasses of Burma, Ceylon, India and Pakistan (1960) and The Orchids of the Sikkim Himalaya (1898) by King and Plantling have also been consulted for grasses and orchids, respectively."
